Singleton gives evidence in gap murder trial He said he spoke to the father of Mr Aisling's mother on his phone before he was called by gardaí. He told the court it appears the pair were in a dispute with their mother at the time. The statement is part of the evidence given by Mr Aisling's parents and friends during the inquest into the murder of the 16-year-old teenager. Mr Aisling's mother said he was going through a dark period which caused him to feel like he was drowning in his own thoughts. He said he felt like his voice was "crushed, his stomach, his body was shaking, but I thought I was in heaven". The case for prosecution The Crown also referred to "an anonymous letter" sent to the prosecuting gardaí when Mr Aisling's murder was discovered. That statement, dated April 21 this year, suggested there was "unparalleled pressure" in the case of the teenager but that they had to be "reasonable and realistic".
