| Singleton gives evidence in gap murder trial
He said he spoke to the father of Mr Aisling's mother on his phone before he was called by gardaÃ.
He told the court it appears the pair were in a dispute with their mother at the time.
The statement is part of the evidence given by Mr Aisling's parents and friends during the inquest into the murder of the 16-year-old teenager.
Mr Aisling's mother said he was going through a dark period which caused him to feel like he was drowning in his own thoughts.
He said he felt like his voice was "crushed, his stomach, his body was shaking, but I thought I was in heaven".
The case for prosecution
The Crown also referred to "an anonymous letter" sent to the prosecuting gardaà when Mr Aisling's murder was discovered.
That statement, dated April 21 this year, suggested there was "unparalleled pressure" in the case of the teenager but that they had to be "reasonable and realistic".
The statement said they had "maintained full cooperation" with gardaà investigating the investigation.
The statement said Mr Aisling had been killed "for no other reason than to humiliate (his) father, and to humiliate them".
When the statement was made to gardaà this year, Mr Aisling's father, Michael Aisling, wrote to the Garda Commissioner to say the boy's killing was in the hands of "the state".
Mr Aisling's mother, Suzanne, told the Court of Criminal Appeal that her son was murdered because his father was being unreasonable.
She said she was upset that the investigation was conducted by "a person who is not qualified to deal with it".
She also said the case for the prosecution was that gardaà who conducted the investigation did not provide information necessary for them to pursue a proper investigation.
